April showers bring May flowers

Thanks to the continued rain in the Chicago area, our neighborhood has produced some lovely blossoms and flowers. Thanks to the neighbors who let me into their yard to take pictures!

Today, the youth and young adult office employees observed a silent retreat. After spending the day in silence,  I felt it might be appropriate for the blog to be simple as well. I hope you can quietly enjoy some scripture, quotes, lyrics and photos of God's creation.

Be still and know that I am God.  Psalm 46:10

He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.  Psalm 23:2

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.

Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.  Colossians 3:15

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
-Mother Teresa

We look forward to the time when the Power of Love will replace the Love of Power.  Then will our world know the blessings of peace.
-William Ewart Gladstone

Let your gentleness be evident to all.  Philippians 4:5

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
Matthew 6:28-30

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  1 John 4:7

Peace begins with a smile. - Mother Teresa

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

He will once again fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy.
Job 8:21

I have stilled and quieted my soul.  Psalm 131:2

May the good Lord show you
how to be frugal, till all are fed
how to weep, till all can laugh
how to be meek, till all can stand in pride
how to mourn, till all are comforted
how to be restless, till all live in peace
how to claim less, till all find justice.
Then you will be blessed indeed and the Earth
itself will be blessed through you.

Prayer from Earth Gospel

Peace y'all,
Clara
